About

Fine Music 102.5 is a Sydney-based community broadcaster that plays classical, jazz and contemporary music. Established in 1974, Fine Music 102.5 celebrates 40 years of broadcasting and is now able to be played via digital DAB+, web streaming and smart phone apps. Every week, over 200,000 Sydneysiders – plus global listeners – tune in to hear its vibrant music mix.

On Fine Music 102.5, you’ll hear well-loved masterworks from virtuoso composers, conductors and singers – the likes of Bach, Mozart, Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Ashkenazy, Toscanini, von Karajan, Caruso and Sutherland and many more. You’ll also walk the road less travelled with unheralded but truly exceptional artists from around the world.

Our innovative jazz presenters draw a dedicated audience with some of the best jazz airplay in the country.

On our weekly interview series In Conversation, you’ll hear the personal stories up close with famous and not-so-famous musicians, composers, conductors as well as those who influence the local and global musical landscape.

At Fine Music 102.5 we don’t just play music – we support music groups and soloists providing rehearsal space, audio recording and promotional opportunities to bridge the gap between performers and audiences. We also have well-established Young Composer and Young Performer awards to throw a spotlight on tomorrow’s stars.

Fine Music 102.5 is a station created by music lovers for lovers of fine music and is powered by 300 dedicated volunteers and a small team of staff wanting to share their passion for fine music.
