Fine Music 102.5 – building the FM transmitter in 1996

Max Benyon OAM is the Honorary Technical Advisor for Fine Music 102.5 and has been behind the scenes leading some with the most important technical initiatives.

In this video, Max describes the building of the 24 meter heigh FM transmitter mast on top of the Governor Phillip Tower, Sydney in 1996 – giving Fine Music 102.5 fantastic coverage across the Sydney basin.

Fine Music 102.5 is Australia’s first FM station. It is a community funded broadcaster, and it is thanks to the helping hands of some 300 volunteers, that Fine Music has been able to broadcast since 1974. For information on how to donate or subscribe to Fine Music 102.5 click here.
